What is proposed?
The site is located on land north of the A264 in Horsham. It has planning permission for a sustainable development including:
- 2,750 new homes in a range of sizes and tenures, including affordable housing
- 500,000 sq ft of new employment space
- An education campus for Bohunt Horsham School
- A new sports hub
- New pedestrian, cycle and road connections
- Extensive green space and landscaping
What’s happening now?
In October 2019, we began initial works to prepare for the delivery of an improved roundabout where the A264 meets Rusper Road.
The improved roundabout is key to the delivery of the new Bohunt Horsham School. A planning application for the new school was submitted by the Department for Education in August 2019 and the new school is expected to open in September 2021.
Archaeological investigation is also underway between the harvest and new planting seasons and works are progressing well.
What’s happening next?
Working with Horsham District Council, Legal & General has reviewed the approved plans for Rusper Road north of the A264 / Rusper Road roundabout. We want to create the best possible environment for everyone using this route.
We are proposing some changes to the approved plans for this part of Rusper Road that will allow us to retain more existing trees and hedgerows and create better footpath, cycle and bridleway routes. The changes will also minimise disruption for existing road users and utilities when the works are taking place.
