Liberty carried out an extensive programme of consultation before submitting its planning application to Horsham District Council. This included a two-day public exhibition in the town centre, which was attended by over 900 people.
Liberty also held dedicated masterplan surgeries with local parish councils and community groups, as well as themed reference group meetings with county, district and parish councillors. These discussions helped shaped the final plans and ensure that Liberty was aware of the key priorities for local people.
In response to feedback, a number of updates were made to the masterplan, including consideration of a more central location for the Sports Hub and incorporating this as part of the Nature Park. The school locations were also reviewed to ensure they were positioned to suit the new community and to locate them around large areas of green open space.
Consultation on planning application – August 2016
Liberty submitted an outline planning application for North of Horsham at the end of July 2016.
The Liberty planning application is registered with reference number DC/16/1677. Full details of the planning application can be accessed via the Council’s planning portal: https://public-access.horsham.gov.uk/public-access/
You can also view key planning documents on our Information Hub.
Horsham District Council undertook its own statutory consultation on the planning application, giving the local community the opportunity to provide formal feedback on the plans – see planning portal for details.
Liberty engaged with the local community during this process and held a two-day public exhibition at Horsham Park Barn in Autumn 2016 to update the community on our outline planning application.
